Led by pianist/keyboardist Jason Domnarski, JDT formed out of a unique vision of how a piano trio can sound. Taking inspiration from the eclecticism of NYC, the trio combines rock, jazz and electronic styles with re-contextualized acoustic sounds and innovative production. Joined by bassist Aaron Nevezie and drummer David Mason, JDT utilizes strong song forms and melodic compositions as a springboard for group improvisation.

At home in both rock and jazz clubs, JDT has performed at some of NYC’s best venues, including Jazz Standard, Blue Note, National Arts Club, NUBLU, and a residency at famed Lower East Side venue Rockwood Music Hall. The trio’s first CD, Notes from Underground, garnered high praise from critics and fans alike and firmly established the band as a force to be reckoned with in the jazz world. JDT joins the Ropeadope family with their latest CD, Inventing the Wheel, and takes their sonic and compositional exploration even further, creating a fitting statement from one of New York City’s most original piano trios.

"Jason Domnarski is a promising young keyboardist with a deep attunement to pop production and orchestration." New York Times

"JDT has crafted a record that is a terrific addition to the year’s jazz releases and one of the best instrumental piano albums in recent memory – rich with melody, sharp song craft, and inspired performances." Stereo Subversion

"An in demand session cat that likes to color outside the lines, this jazz rocker will not be categorized and makes tunes for people that still believe in the Duke Ellington Policy. Fun stuff for cutting edge tastes." Midwest Record
